MdC is in the heart of the Dordogne . The area is most well known for its medieval architecture, troglodyte caves, truffles, foie Gras and walnuts . We are in a rural hamlet, quiet but not isolated, with a natural forest just meters away from the front door where you will find miles of country tracks to walk, cycle and run. A couple of minutes walk away you will find a famous local landmark, Le Puits de Bontemps, which is a natural artesian well.
Ten minutes by car will take you to the local town, Thenon, which has a supermarket and local shops. There are numerous small towns and villages within 15 minutes with local restaurants and amenities. The nearest city is Perigueux, the department capital which is just 25 minutes by car. It has many shops, bars and restaurants in its quaint and ancient streets with a famous cathedral, and food markets.
